What’s Growing: Week of 9/7

Greetings farm friends! This week our regular CSA members will receive tomatoes, bell peppers, salad mix, eggplant, basil, and pears. Our family CSA members will also receive okra, purple hull peas, and tromboncino squash. The pears will last for months in the fridge, but need to ripen on the counter for 5-7 days. They will ripen a bit faster in a paper bag!

We just got in our new CSA tote bags thanks to our friends at Oddities Prints! Special thanks to Flannery Cashill for the awesome design! We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Please make sure to return your bag each week, since these are harder and more expensive to replace. They are much larger than the previous bags, which means more room for extra produce and for bulky items!

We have a lot of extra pears to share on our online store this week, as well as eggs and flowers. It’s a tough time of year for produce, since the summer crops start to slow down quickly and the fall crops aren’t yet mature. It’s a great time to stock up on pears since they will last months in the fridge!!
