Whats Growing: Week of 8/31

Greetings farm friends! This week our CSA members will recieve green beans, mustard greens, onions OR okra, hot peppers, eggplant and pumpkins !The family size will also be getting cherry tomatoes, salad mix, and bell peppers. Your pumpkins would make a great pumpkin pie, or if you aren’t in the mood for that, they can be used in place of butternut squash. We have tried our best to cure them properly, so they should last awhile in a cool dark place if you want to keep them for a bit. But check them often just in case!

Its starting to feel a little like fall around here and we are into it! The cooler weather this week and the first harvest of pumpkins is making us look forward to the next few months and a change of pace. The tomatoes definitely slowed down a bit this week, but we are hoping it’s just temporary and they continue to give us harvests into the fall. Other crops that have been struggling in the heat should perk back up now. We have lots of okra and beans this week for online orders, as well as the tomatoes we did manage to harvest and some other goodies. And herbs, eggs, and flowers are going strong. Enjoy your week, and I hope your enjoying the nice rain as much as I do.
