What’s Growing: Week of 5/16

Greetings farm friends! This week our spring CSA members will receive salad mix, cress, spinach, cabbage, turnips and garlic chives. The cabbages are a new variety of pointy “wizard hat” cabbage that are perfect for making a slaw. Cress is a spicy green that can be added to salads, sandwiches, or made into a tasty “cress-to”. We also have the last of our spring Napa cabbages and arugula on our online store, as well as eggs and flowers. We’re excited for the diverse selection that should be available in the coming weeks.

Rain is in the forecast all week, and our rain barrel is already full! This is an exciting new addition to the farm and will allow us to more sustainably water (especially in the high tunnel) all year long. We’re hoping for enough rain to satisfy the crops without so much that it brings along moisture-related diseases. Happy eating!
